Matthew’s
first play, So You Die a Little (co-written with Tony Brockman), was performed
by Pandemonium Theatre in 1998 and short-listed for the Queensland Theatre Company’s
1999 George Landen Dann Award.
Matthew’s second play, The Dance of Jeremiah, won the 2000 George Landen
Dann Award and was performed by the Australian Theatre for Young People in 2000.
The Dance of Jeremiah was produced by La Boite Theatre Company as part of their
2005 season.
His next play, Julia Rose, was selected for Queensland Theatre Company’s
“The Works 2003”, receiving workshops and public readings at American
Repertory Theatre in America, Royal Exchange Theatre in England, Necessary Stage
in Singapore and Theatre Network in Canada. In 2005 it was shortlisted for Sydney
Theatre Company’s Patrick White Award.
Matthew’s most recent play, Summer Wonderland, will be performed by La
Boite Theatre Company in their 2007 season.
