Ayeesha is a proud M?ori (T?hoe, Ngati Koura) Grenadian woman and interdisciplinary artist who seeks to spark social consciousness through her work.
A graduate of the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (acting), Ayeesha has worked professionally in theatre and television for the past 9 years. In 2015 she co-founded the highly acclaimed Black Birds, and is currently the Artistic Director.
Ayeesha's writing has been published in The Sydney Morning Herald, Audrey Journal and bi50Mag. In 2022 she received the All About Women of Colour writing mentorship. For television, she has written on Stan's new show Year Of (Roadshow Rough Diamond), and Black Birds' is currently developing Seen (Roadshow Rough Diamond), a television series based on their sold out stage show, Brown Skin Girl.
Ayeesha is the host and producer of podcast No Offence, But.., soon to enter its fourth season and is developing a new podcast about Women of Colour and wellness with collaborator Basjia Almaan. Ayeesha loves pop culture and frequently works with Pedestrian TV. She would like to grow her work in the pop culture and news space in the content creation and hosting/interviewing space.
